Mills and Sons

2013

Mills and Sons is the oldest shop in the seaside town of Southwold; the shop has a 300 year old history of selling locally farmed meat. Today the business is run by brothers Henry and George Mills, who have extended the butchery to include a delicatessen and cheese counter. They're passionate about food and agriculture and wanted to reflect that in their branding.

The challenge was to create an identity that respected the heritage of their business in a clean, modern style. We created a simple monogram using animal silhouettes, supported by classic style typefaces to produce an elegant logo with traditional undertones. The colours for the brand are a minimal combination of black, white and eggshell blue, for a sharp, stated look.
